TRAINING


Cloybank Estate, in conjunction with Falkirk District Council and Oatridge College, runs a rural skills/estates maintenance training programme. Targeted at 15-18 year olds the programme delivers the basic elements of rural skills. From the ancient art of Drystone dyking to the modern skill of deer and stock fencing, this programme has something for everyone.
 

Training sessions include:-

 
Green-keeping
Deer and stock fencing
Drystone dyking
Footpath construction
Basic Joinery
Horticulture
Pest control
 


Some of the above lessons have also been adapted to deliver a short programme to kids from Carron grange School and young adults from Southfield. This programme has proved to be a huge success giving these kids a taste of practical skills in a rural environment. Our tailored programmes, not only incorporate practical skills but they also provide, where and when neccessary, Literacy and Numeracy classroom based work.
 


Cloybank Estate can also deliver a wide and varied range of training programmes and short courses. The courses are designed in a way that they not only deliver employability skills required today but also the necessary practical skills that could enable people to move in a new career path.
